We had such an awesome time with Joe in August 2025. We really had no idea what to expect having rafted before, but never with our dogs. Joe hooked us, and the dogs up with everything we needed - wet suits, jackets, life jackets for us and life jackets for our Great Pyrenees and Shih Tzu. The rafting was active, but not intense or uncontrolled. So it was still exciting, yet comfortable with the dogs who had no idea what was going on. And also because Joe had lots of different facts and stories to share along the journey. While the rafting and nature were awesome, it was Joe's hospitality, humor, and knowledge that made the adventure feel like an adventure. We took our family of four adults (one who had never been rafting before) with our two large dogs in early June and we had a great time! Joe was great and is definitely a dog loving guy. Overall, the river was pretty smooth with a couple rapids and was excellent for a first time rafter and families. We stopped once to get out and run to play in the river. There was a little bit of traffic on the river, but very enjoyable with the cool water and sunny weather. Would highly recommend Joe and CRR to anyone looking for a great float style rafting trip! Pictured are the canyon, small rapids, our dogs trying to jump in the river and eat water, and the very sweet donkey and golden retriever friends we met along the way! This was a great couple hours of excursion for us.

Our family of 7 kids and 9 adults had a great day on the river with Joe from Colorado River Runs. We split up between a raft and 5 two-person inflatable kayaks. The whole family had a lot of fun, and it was the highlight of our week on Colorado. The surroundings were beautiful. Radium is a cool spot. And the river was perfect for our group of young white water rafters with some fun splashy (but manageable) rapids and scenic flat sections. We had a very nice lunch spread that included drinks and ice cream. We even got to pet and feed Joe's donkeys at the end of the day.

Took my son for his first trip and it was perfect. We went on a Sunday when there were very few groups on the river that day. The weather was agreeable and our guide Ken was very engaging with all the riders and even gave us a bit of history along the river. We had originally planned on going a month before but had to cancel due to a family emergency and there were no problems rescheduling. Both reservations I received a confirmation email and was notified that we needed to use a credit card to hold the spot. The overall customer service was delightful and the business was off the beaten path yet easy to access in a sedan. I would absolutely recommend Colorado River Runs for beginner to intermediate riders!!

Wonderful trip down a beautiful river! Joe was the most skilled guide. Kind to our children. Answered all our questions. What a blast!! We will be back.

We had the best time at Colorado River Runs. Joe had everything ready for us when we got there. Brett was a very knowledgeable guide and excellent host. He also was great at including my 8 yo son in the ready trip. My almost 5 yo daughter loves the trip also, especially the rapids. And to top it off we saw two bald eagles!

First time rafting for all of the family. We had an amazing memorable time and plan to definitely do it again. We were running late and gave our guide a call who let us know it was no problem at all and that he would just wait for us. He was extremely friendly, experienced and involved everyone during the trip. Lots of others were on the river and he kept the experience for us as intimate as possible. I would certainly recommend using this company to anyone.

Joe was a great guide and host on our trip. We booked a couple days in advance and got a private tour - we were the only raft in the group. Joe made it fun for our kids (ages 5-8) and picked great lines as we made it down the river. We have been coming to the Vail area for 30 years and only recently started visiting in the summer. We will definitely return to Radium the next time we are in Colorado for the summer.

Great for families! Joe was our guide down the Colorado River using both a raft and the 2 person duckies. The stretch of river is majestic and Joe pointed out wild life (eagles) and gave some basic historical context for sites on the river. I really liked that it was just our family on the trip and we weren't around a lot of other groups so we could enjoy the scenery and nature sounds. We appreciated Joe's high concern for safety but he wasn't ridiculously strick so that it hampered the fun. He advised when the smaller kids could be in the duckies and when it was better for them to ride in the raft and we switched back and forth during the trip. He has a rather rye sense of humor that we found amusing and added fun to the trip. The trip was perfect for beginners (our youngest on the trip is 5) but still has enough excitement for everyone to get a little wet. After the trip there was icecream and Joe let the kids pet the donkeys. We definitely recommend and will do another trip with this company if we come here again on vacation.
