Colorado River Rafting

The Colorado River at Radium has been designated a Wild & Scenic River. Lighter rapids, a deep canyon, and spectacular mountain scenery allow this stretch of the Colorado is ideal for seasoned rafters, first timers, and families.

Eagle River Rafting

Fueled by the runoff, the Eagle River flows down the Vail Valley in a rush of rapids and excitement. The rapids are wet and wild and periods of vigorous paddling may be required. The whitewater on the Eagle is considered moderate to advanced but not extreme.

DOG FRIENDLY RAFTING

Lots of our guests want to raft with their dogs. We have a river trip on the Colorado River that specifically designed so you can bring your best friend. The Colorado River has easy rapids, deep swimming holes, and sunny beaches to frolic with your buddy and your friends.

Rafting is one of the most popular summer activities in Colorado and rafting with Colorado River Runs is ideal for seasoned rafters, first timers and families. We’ve been guiding guests on the best of Colorado’s rivers since 1973. The spirited whitewater will test your cool and the calm backwaters will cool your soul. Narrow canyons become passageways that reveal the ancient layers of sedimentary rock. Thrilling rapids are where we earn our keep. Our safety record remains perfect.

At Colorado River Runs, our focus is safety and guest care. Our rivers are carefully chosen for fun and accessibility. Our guides are skilled certified professionals. We provide Coast Guard approved life jackets and a safety talk is given prior to each departure. Our rafts and equipment are the best available. Established in 1973, we are one of Colorado’s original river outfitters.

The Colorado River at Radium has been designated a Wild and Scenic River, with breezy rapids, a deep canyon and spectacular mountain scenery. Fueled by the runoff and roaring down the Vail Valley, the Eagle River offers a great whitewater adventure. Our shuttles are short, using passenger vans only. No recycled school buses, no flotillas of rafts. We only send out one raft per departure allowing our trips to be private and personal. For the more adventurous one and two person inflatable kayaks are available on request. Dog friendly rafting on the Colorado River is also available.

Reservations

Reservations are needed and we often have openings on short notice. For reservations, please call ahead. We require a credit card # to hold the reservation and 72 hours notice of cancellation is required. Cancellations made within 72 hours will be charged the full price. This applies to no shows and parties that arrive with fewer persons than on the reservation. If your plans change, please give us as much advanced notice as possible.

Colorado River Rafting Trips
We had such an awesome time with Joe and Colorado River Runs. We really had no idea what to expect having rafted before, but never with our dogs. Joe hooked us, and the dogs up with everything we needed - wet suits, jackets, life jackets for us and life jackets for our Great Pyrenees and Shih Tzu. The rafting was active, but not intense or uncontrolled. So it was still exciting, yet comfortable with the dogs who had no idea what was going on. And also because Joe had lots of different facts and stories to share along the journey. While the rafting and nature were awesome, it was Joe's hospitality, humor, and knowledge that made the adventure feel like an adventure. We will definitely be back for round two next time we're in CO. Thank you Joe and Colorado River Runs! ~S,J,O&P
We took our family of four adults (one who had never been rafting before) with our two large dogs in early June and we had a great time! Joe was great and is definitely a dog loving guy. Overall, the river was pretty smooth with a couple rapids and was excellent for a first time rafter and families. We stopped once to get out and run to play in the river. There was a little bit of traffic on the river, but very enjoyable with the cool water and sunny weather. Would highly recommend Joe and CRR to anyone looking for a great float style rafting trip! Pictured are the canyon, small rapids, our dogs trying to jump in the river and eat water, and the very sweet donkey and golden retriever friends we met along the way! This was a great couple hours of excursion for us.
Our family of 7 kids and 9 adults had a great day on the river with Joe from Colorado River Runs. We split up between a raft and 5 two-person inflatable kayaks. The whole family had a lot of fun, and it was the highlight of our week on Colorado. The surroundings were beautiful. Radium is a cool spot. And the river was perfect for our group of young white water rafters with some fun splashy (but manageable) rapids and scenic flat sections. We had a very nice lunch spread that included drinks and ice cream. We even got to pet and feed Joe's donkeys at the end of the day.
Great for families! Joe was our guide down the Colorado River using both a raft and the 2 person duckies. The stretch of river is majestic and Joe pointed out wild life (eagles) and gave some basic historical context for sites on the river. I really liked that it was just our family on the trip and we weren't around a lot of other groups so we could enjoy the scenery and nature sounds. We appreciated Joe's high concern for safety but he wasn't ridiculously strick so that it hampered the fun. He advised when the smaller kids could be in the duckies and when it was better for them to ride in the raft and we switched back and forth during the trip. He has a rather rye sense of humor that we found amusing and added fun to the trip. The trip was perfect for beginners (our youngest on the trip is 5) but still has enough excitement for everyone to get a little wet. After the trip there was icecream and Joe let the kids pet the donkeys. We definitely recommend and will do another trip with this company if we come here again on vacation.
