Steamboat Springs RaftingSteamboat Springs Rafting

The mountain resort of Steamboat Springs has access to the best rivers in Colorado for whitewater rafting. The Colorado River 65 miles from Steamboat is a great adventure for families and beginners, with light rapids and spectacular canyon scenery. The Eagle River has some of the best rapids anywhere and is about 75 minutes from Steamboat.

The Colorado River
The Colorado is an affordable and fun family float, with deep canyons, high mountain vistas, and light rapids.

The whitewater on the Colorado is rated easy (Class II and II+) with excellent water conditions all summer. Even in lighter rapids, safety is our primary concern. An experienced Steamboat Springs rafting guide is in each raft. We all wear fitted Coast Guard approved life jackets and a safety briefing is given before the boats go on the water.

Two person inflatable kayaks, known as duckies, are available for the more active and adventurous members of your party. Our trips meet at our headquarters in Radium, 20 miles south of Kremmling in the Colorado River Valley. Full days and half days depart at 900AM, 100PM, and 400PM. Please plan to arrive at our location in Radium 20 minutes prior to the departure time. We recommend that you wear shorts or a swimsuit and appropriate footwear (water shoes or sport sandals) is required. For more information and prices, click on the Colorado River tab on the navigation bar to the left or call 800-826-1081.

THE EAGLE RIVER
Get ready to get wet! The Eagle River at Eagle has some of the best moderate to advanced rapids in Colorado. Our location west of Wolcott is approximately 75 minutes from Steamboat with half days and full days departing every day. Departures are at 900AM and 100PM and trips are available in late May, June, and early July. This Steamboat Springs rafting trip is not recommended for children. At high water in early June, the Eagle is fast and furious and very, very wet. Some vigorous paddling may be required. Safety is primary, with each participant wearing a wetsuit and a fitted Coast Guard approved life jacket. A thorough briefing on whitewater safety is given prior to each Steamboat Springs whitewater rafting trip. For most of the season, the rapids are Class III and III+, but in early June ratings can reach Class IV. Wetsuits, helmets, and splash jackets are included. Under the wetsuit, we recommend that you wear a swimsuit. Remember to have a warm, dry set of clothing in the car for after the trip. For more information and prices, click on the Eagle River tab on the navigation bar to the left or call 800-826-1081.
